The concept

Measure. Relate. Test. Learn. Decide.

Psiconometria is an integrated approach that combines rigorous measurement of human characteristics with quantitative methods of economic analysis, seeking to understand how people, behaviours, relationships and decisions influence business processes and outcomes. It is an authorial concept, a methodological proposal in development and an evidence-based management tool — not an officially recognised science.

What comes from psychometrics

  • Well-defined constructs before measuring
  • Reliability and measurement error
  • Validity evidence for each use
  • Fairness and differential item functioning

What comes from econometrics

  • Uncertainty quantified in every estimate
  • Separation between prediction and causality
  • Experiments and quasi-experimental methods
  • Longitudinal and panel data

What emerges from the combination

  • Human factors treated as measurable hypotheses
  • Mechanism chains up to KPIs
  • Pilots with a baseline and a comparison group
  • Decisions that state assumptions and limits

Two layers, plausible connections — never determinism

Tap an element of the human layer to see where it may act on the business layer. No single human variable determines a financial result.

Distinctions that protect people

Limits of the method: results depend on context, population, data quality and continuous validation. Understanding people without reducing people to numbers is a design commitment — not a slogan.
